What to Expect
12:30pm – Social Lunch
Royal Mail Hotel, 29 Beech Street, Whittlesea
(Senior’s meals from $23 per person)
Begin the afternoon by meeting your friends for a leisurely senior’s meal at the Royal Mail Hotel. It’s the perfect chance to socialise and enjoy good company before the tour begins.
1:30pm – Historical Presentation & Tour
Whittlesea Courthouse Visitor Information Centre, 74 Church Street, Whittlesea
After lunch, take a short walk across the road to the Whittlesea Courthouse Visitor Information Centre. Here you’ll enjoy:
- A captivating historical presentation
- A guided tour of the old courthouse and the original gaol lockup
- Exhibits and local handcrafts
Learn about the area’s original inhabitants, early European settlement, bushrangers, the booming timber industry, farming traditions, and water supply that helped shape our region in the mid-1800s.
2:30pm – Optional Free Time
Why not extend your visit by exploring the main street? Discover retro 60s rock’n’roll cafés, op shops, and local charm at your own pace.
